How it all began
For years we wanted a second home in Europe. We finally found it in the beautiful island of Mallorca, Spain
Each summer traveling to Europe, we would fall in love with countrysides and imagine ourselves one day living simple, rustic lives in a small town.
Inevitably, returning home to American life, the fantasy would fade. Until we discovered Mallorca.
We fell in love with its beautiful mountain ranges, rustic towns filled with kind people, mediterranean beaches ancient village replete with a cathedral standing on foundations placed in the 11th century, cobblestone streets leading to the central plaza, butcher shops run by generations of the same family, Saturday markets offering freshly caught fish and locally grown vegetables - delicious, sumptuous, magnificent.
Yet underlying this old-world setting exists a well-run and fully appointed set of modern services and conveniences that allow us to enjoy our voyage back in time and living in todays reality. And so the journey began…
Sóller and its surrounding areas
And then we found our house
Accustomed to renovations in the U.S., we thought this would be a short six-month project. Little did we know that we were in for an education in old world construction that would last two years.
